9 DESIGNER APPROVED AREA RUGS

Just a quick round up for today - some of my most favorite area rugs all on sale and under $500! I love the vintage vibe of traditional style rugs but they can be super pricey! These all go up to 9x12 size which, for reference, is what we have in our living room and it perfectly captures both large sofas with just a smidge of the rug under each one. A good tip when rug shopping is to measure out your space and even put down blue tape on the floor to visualize how the rug size will work with your current furniture. You want somewhere around at least 6” of the rug to be hidden under each chair, sofa, etc. It can be more, but try to find a rug size that will allow for equal amounts to live under each piece so it’s nice and centered. Too small of a rug can make your space look disjointed and actually smaller than what it truly is. When in doubt, go larger!
While some of these look to be pretty bold in terms of color and pattern, they are all made up of really yummy neutrals that should work to tie together any space. Try to pick one with similar accent colors to your furniture, pillows, or curtains so it complements the room. Another online shopping tip is to make sure you read reviews and always always look at the customer photos of the actual product! Often times - especially with rugs - the stock photos can be a little misleading. Things tend to read a lot brighter in the web photos so looking at what customers post is a great way to visualize how the rug might actually look in your space. Extra bonus if someone’s photo happens to have similar flooring or furniture color/style so you can really get a feel for it.
