2020 FALL PILLOW ROUND UP

2020 FALL PILLOW ROUND UP

Hi friends!

I don’t know about you but I could really use a distraction from 2020 right about now. Oregon is currently on fire - literally. We have some of the worst air quality in the entire WORLD at the moment as wildfires have been threatening our cities all week. Of course Oregon wildfires aren’t unheard of, but this close to home…this never happens. Truly devastating for all the families who have lost everything and for all of the displaced wildlife and livestock in the more rural areas. The entire county has been on high alert since Labor Day as a historic wind event blew through town causing downed power lines in the midst of a super dry summer. To make matters worse, there are even reports of arson in some areas which is just gut wrenching. As if 2020 wasn’t already enough of a shitshow with COVID, let’s just go ahead and throw some fire on it, too. UGH. Praying for all of the affected families and counting our blessings that the worst we have had to deal with is a little smoky air in the house.

Something that has always been a great distraction for me during stressful times is to shop my home, rearrange a bit, and spend time poring through online shops (even if 99% of the time it ends in an abandoned shopping cart). With Fall right around the corner, it’s almost time to do a little decor refresh! Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons to decorate for. I don’t usually go all out for specific holidays - even our Christmas decor is still pretty neutral - but there’s something that feels so fresh about swapping things out twice a year. In Spring, we’re ready for warm weather and eager to brighten the place up a bit. In Fall, it’s allll about the cozy factor with some more moody elements. I like to keep my home relatively neutral so when I do go to swap things for seasons, it’s pretty simple and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! Keeping the base neutral makes it so easy. Depending on the pieces you choose, Spring items can roll right through to the end of Summer, and Fall stuff gets you through Thanksgiving until you’re ready to pull out that Christmas tree!

My favorite place to start when I’m getting ready to redecorate is with the textiles throughout my home. Changing a couple accent pillows and throw blankets on the bed and/or sofa can make a huge difference. I’ve rounded up all of Target’s best Fall pillows below! It was pretty hard to narrow down so I’ve broken it out into 4 Fall friendly color schemes - a little something for everyone! Which is your favorite?!

PS: as of today, some of these are new arrivals that aren’t quite available for purchase online yet. You can “heart” the items on the Target site and take note of the launch date - this makes for easy check out when they do launch because they’ll already be in your favorites and ready to quickly add to cart. As always, check the stores, too! Sometimes you’ll get lucky and items will be available there first.

Okay let’s get to it!

Bonus! Linking up our sofas, too, if you’re in the market for a new one! Ever since West Elm shared one of my photos on Instagram, I’ve been getting so many questions on how we like them, how they’re holding up, which fabric we got, etc. We have the 92” swoop arm version in the Performance Velvet “Stone”. Everyone and their mom gave me crap about buying light colored couches but about a year later I am here to say - that this fabric is MAGICAL. We spilled red wine on it the other day and it came right out with just some light blotting of a wet paper towel. I’m not kidding! I wish I would have taken a photo when it happened. The dog even got a little bit of blood on one of the pillows (scratchy nail-to-face problems) and that came right out with just water even though it sat for a week. If you have messy kiddos/husbands/dogs (lol) the Performance Velvet is legit. No regrets! As far as comfort goes - they are a very deep sit! No need to get the “extra deep” version in my opinion. The sofas sit low to the ground which I personally like. The back cushions are down filled so they benefit from a weekly “fluffing” once they start to slouch too much. The seat cushions are foam so they are a bit more firm, but you get that good balance of cushy back/firmer seat which I find comfortable! We have had them for about a year now and everything still looks/feels great! Linked below:

Anyway, happy almost Fall :)
