FRESH BEDDING ROUND UP

FRESH BEDDING ROUND UP

Hi Friends!

I recently shared a favorite pillow roundup and thought I’d take an Instagram poll to see what you guys are shopping for right now - bedding won by a landslide! Surprisingly enough, lamps were the runner up and I happen to have a TON of those saved and have been really into a good accent lamp lately so I’ll definitely be doing a little round up of those soon, too!

I’ve gotten quite a few questions on our bedding since we moved into the new house. It’s honestly very simple! But I think what helps it look so nice (aside from a good filter! lol) is the new bed frame! We went with a canopy bed and I could not be more obsessed with it! We also upgraded to a king in this house which has been life changing in itself, but the canopy and ACTUAL headboard is such a departure from what we were living with before. I’ll link our canopy bed frame here, it’s a really great price even at the king size and it was a breeze to put together. If the full canopy isn’t your thing, you can actually leave that part off and just put the finials on the shorter posts to finish it off. That way you get the pretty headboard and footboard with just a little bit of the vertical design without the commitment. Our pillow shams were found at a Rejuvenation warehouse sale so I can’t link those, but I’ll link our duvet cover here, our accent blanket here, and the matching euro sham here. (great neutrals!)

Now for the fresh new bedding roundup! I decided to just pull together a few different mood boards with everything you’d need to completely style your bed depending on your vibe. I could do this for days with multiple retailers! So feel free shoot me a message if there is a specific item you love but aren’t quite sure how to incorporate on to your bed. Best rule of thumb - pick a color scheme and layer it on via different textures! Our bed is mostly white/tan, but every piece is a different texture which really gives it a purposeful look rather than just a boring, flat, white bedspread. Not everything needs to match, but coordination is key! And while I typically love simplicity, I feel like the bed is one place where more is more! Think lots of pillows in different sizes, a throw blanket, a quilt and a duvet…all about those layers to make it look grand!

Anywho! Can you tell I love this stuff?! Check out some ideas below:

Bold + Traditional

// 1. Target Diamond Stitch Velvet Quilt -- ON SALE $48-56 You had me at velvet.

// 2. Target Floral Print Velvet Tufted Quilt -- ON SALE $48-56 While these two velvet quilts together might be a little heavy for summer, you could easily transition by removing the rust colored one and replacing with a lighter duvet. And just because it’s on your bed, doesn’t mean you have to sleep with it all at night! Love the look of these together - the colors are so rich and their traditional nod really speaks to me.

// 3. Target Diamond Stitch Velvet Pillow Sham -- ON SALE $12 Would grab 2 of these in the standard size.

// 4. Target Performance Sheet Set 400 Thread Count -- ON SALE $39-47 Love that these have the “deep pocket” stretch on the fitted sheet, and they wash really well. The Sour Cream color would look great with this color scheme.

// 5. IKEA JOFRID Cushion Cover -- $14 If you have a king size bed, I’d snag 3 of these to put along the back (just 2 if you have a queen) and then layer your Sour Cream pillow cases in front of those, and the Velvet Standard Shams in front of those. Finish it with a smaller accent pillow!

// 6. IKEA FJADRAR Inner Cushion -- $10 These 26x26 inserts fit the above shams perfectly. Great quality for the price.

// 7. IKEA JOFRID Throw -- $29 This is about the perfect size for a queen size bed, but we still use it on our king! I would layer it on top of your sheets so it covers the width of the bed (won’t go all the way up to the pillows because it’s not big enough) then put your folded over quilt(s) and/or duvet on top and leave just enough of the throw blanket showing underneath so you can then fold the blanket down over the quilt and it looks like it’s properly layered! This will match back to the texture of your euro shams as well.

// 8. Target Raw Edge Throw Pillow Cross Dyed Sour Cream -- $19 This 14x22 size would be perfect as the last accent pillow in front. The brighter white color will match the sheets and lighten up the center of the bed.

// 9. Target Solid Tassel Throw Blanket -- $55 Love this gauzy throw to toss over the end corner of the finished bed. Instant cozy points and it breaks up the bold floral print on the quilt.

// 10. Target Ferndale Metal Bed -- ON SALE $207-233 The price on this bed frame is insane! Love the traditional look - super timeless.

Modern + Hubby Approved

// 1. Target Micro Texture Duvet Cover Set -- ON SALE $47-59 This is the same duvet cover we have in white, but the Olive color would be perfect here. It’s currently backordered but any olive duvet would work! I just love the texture on this one and it really holds up in the wash which is a major plus. I’ll keep my eye out for the re-stock.

// 2. Target Textural Stripe Coverlet -- ON SALE $55-63 With the lighter greys going on, this quilt in Black is the perfect thing to “ground” the look. Layer this over the sheets before your duvet so a little peeks out at the top just before all your accent pillows.

// 3. Target Textural Stripe Sham -- ON SALE $15 Depending on how many pillows you have, you may or may not need these. But, for example, if you’ve got 2 king pillows to go with the striped pillow cases, and 2 kings for the olive green shams, you may want to pick up 2 of these Black shams in the standard size to put at the front before your accent pillows! Just adds another layer/color, but not necessary if you’re going for a more simple look.

// 4. Target Organic Printed MicroStripe Sheet Set -- $45-55 These striped sheets in the Railroad Gray color are modern but versatile - they could really go with any bedding. Love the texture they add with the tiny neutral pattern.

// 5. Woven Nook Milo Faux Leather Pillow Cover -- $19 I’d do 2 of these at the 20” size in front of all your “sleeping pillows” (1 on your side, 1 on his) and throw a slightly smaller accent pillow in the middle to finish it off.

// 6. IKEA FJADRAR Inner Cushion -- $6 Grab 2 of these 20” inserts for the covers above.

// 7. Target Stripe Throw Pillow -- $19 This pillow is from the same collection as the sheets, so the colors should match perfectly! Throw this one in the middle of your leather pillows with the stripes at the top.

// 8. Target Textured Lumbar Pillow -- $19 Another extra you could go without…but it’s so cute sitting in front of the tassel pillow so the stripes peek out!

// 9. IKEA INGRUN Throw -- $12 LOVE the texture on this throw and you can’t beat that price. Toss this one at the end of the bed kind of messy + undone for extra cool points.

// 10. Target Suzanne Platform Bed with Headboard -- ON SALE $255-279 Again with the killer price! Love the low platform on this one - very modern - and the walnut works perfectly with all of the bedding colors!

Clean + Neutral

// 1. Target Duvet Cover Set Linen -- ON SALE $79-89 Perfect match to the oversized pillows and the lightweight linen fabric would be a dream to sleep with.

// 2. West Elm Dobby Ladder Stripe Coverlet -- ON SALE $135-159 Nothing like a little tone-on-tone texture. Event though this is patterned, it won’t really read that way once it’s layered with everything else. I love mixing creams and whites, too. Don’t be afraid of that!

// 3. Target Supima Classic Hemstich Sheet Set 700 Thread Count -- ON SALE $71-79 Ok if 700 thread count doesn’t sound like a cozy nap waiting to happen, I don’t know what does! Love the dainty hemstitch detail on these, too.

// 4. Target Square Throw Pillow -- $29 On this bed, I’d stack up your sleeping pillows flat on top of each other - maybe it’s 1 king with 1 standard on top (for each side of the bed) Then, place 2 of these euro-size throw pillows in front of those stacks - 1 centered on each side of the bed.

// 5. Wayfair Bustamante Cotton Lumbar Pillow -- $28 I’d grab 2 of these and place one in front of each large euro pillow. Love the mix of materials!

// 6. Target Tufted Modern Pattern Square Throw Pillow -- ON SALE $15 I have this pillow in another color and the texture is.so.good. Put one of these White cuties in the middle of the bed, just in front of the 2 lumbars. It’ll make the lumbar pillows look like one big long one behind there - while adding that layer I was talking about to give the all-white bed a little something extra.

// 7. Target Stripe Gauze Throw Blanket Blue -- $29 Just a little pop of neutral color tossed at the bottom of the bed.

// 8. Wayfair Alrai Upholstered Standard Bed -- $642-722 This bed has over 2K positive reviews and the “Zuma White” looks like the perfect cross-weaved texture to round out this neutral bedroom.

PS how many times did I say the word texture in this post?!

Happy shopping!
